Both the reduced-speed operation of trains and the illumination in the “Maple Tunnel” section of the Eizan Railway

November 7 – 24

To celebrate the autumn foliage season, trains will run at reduced speed through the “Maple Tunnel,” located between Ichihara and Ninose stations on the Kurama Line.
In addition to the daytime slow-speed operation, the “Maple Tunnel” area will be beautifully illuminated after sunset, and more “Kirara” panorama trains will run during the evening hours.

“‘Maple Tunnel’ Slow Trains & Illumination”

This year, slow-speed train operation and illumination are scheduled from Friday, November 7 to Monday, November 24.
▶Depending on the autumn foliage conditions, the period may be extended.

Peak Autumn Foliage Schedule (Weekday): November 7 – December 12

  • From Demachiyanagi to Kurama: 9:00 AM – 8:43 PM (Illumination: 4:30 PM – 8:43 PM)

  • From Kurama to Demachiyanagi: 9:34 AM – 9:02 PM (Illumination: 4:50 PM – 9:02 PM)

Saturday & Sunday  Schedule: November 8–9

  • From Demachiyanagi to Kurama: 9:00 AM – 8:44 PM (Illumination: 4:30 PM – 8:44 PM)

  • From Kurama to Demachiyanagi: 9:34 AM – 9:03 PM (Illumination: 4:49 PM – 9:03 PM)

Peak Autumn Foliage Schedule (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays): November 15–24

  • From Demachiyanagi to Kurama: 9:00 AM – 8:44 PM (Illumination: 4:30 PM – 8:44 PM)

※You can view the illumination from all trains listed in the timetable below.
