Panorama Train "MAI"
展望列車「舞」は、まるで着物をまとって旅をするような特別な時間をお届けすることをコンセプトに、京都洛北にゆかりのある四季折々の風景を、伝統的な着物の文様をモチーフに、今様に織り込みました。
京都や洛北の伝統を映しながら、四季折々の自然のなかを、まるで着物をまとって舞うように旅していただきたい。そんな想いを「舞」という一文字に込めました。
The panorama train “Mai” was created with the concept of offering passengers a special journey, one that feels as if you were traveling while wrapped in a beautiful kimono. Its design weaves together the seasonal scenery of Kyoto’s Rakuhoku area using traditional kimono patterns, reinterpreted in a modern style.
Reflecting the elegance of Kyoto and Rakuhoku’s traditions, we hope you will enjoy a journey through the changing seasons, as if you were gracefully dancing through nature in a kimono. This hope is embodied in the single character “Mai,” meaning dance.
外観
四季折々の移ろいを象徴する「花の丸文様」や、沿線で見られる春の桃や桜、夏のアジサイや撫子、秋のもみじや萩、冬の南天などの花々を描いています。さらに、四季をイメージした「瑞雲文様」や、清らかな水の流れを思わせる「流水文様」を配し、線上に四季の花々が咲き誇る趣を表現しました。 自然を愛でる美しい伝統的な和柄を通して、日本の自然や文化の奥深さを感じながら、特別なひとときをお楽しみいただけます。
The train’s design features the “Hana-no-Maru” pattern, symbolizing the changing seasons, along with seasonal flowers visible along the track.
Peach blossoms and cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangeas and pinks in summer, maple leaves and bush clover in autumn, and nandina berries in winter are prominently featured.
In addition, the “Zuiun” pattern, inspired by the seasons, and the “Ryūsui” pattern, evoking the flow of clear water, are incorporated to create an impression of flowers blooming along the track throughout the year.
Passengers can enjoy a special journey and experience the depth and richness of Japan’s natural beauty and culture through these beautiful traditional Japanese patterns that celebrate nature.
車内
京都の伝統と文化を象徴する「着物」に着想を得た内装デザインとしました。壁面には伝統柄を淡くあしらい、座席は帯、スタンションポール（握り棒）は簪（かんざし）、つり手は髪飾りに見立て、着物を彩る小物をモチーフとしています。さらに、床やつり手には木調の素材を採用し、沿線の山々と調和する叡山電車の姿を表現しました。
パノラマ感のある窓からは四季折々の風景を楽しむことができ、日常のご利用はもちろん、観光で訪れる方にも「着物をまとって出かける時のような、明るく心弾む気持ち」を感じていただける空間を目指しています。
The interior design is inspired by kimono, a symbol of Kyoto’s tradition and culture.
Soft traditional patterns are applied to the walls. The seats are modeled after obi sashes, the stanchions resemble kanzashi hair ornaments, and the hanging straps are designed to evoke hair accessories. All motifs drawn from the accessories that adorn a kimono.
Additionally, wood-like materials are used for the flooring and hanging straps, reflecting the harmonious image of the Eizan train amidst the surrounding mountains.
From the panoramic windows, passengers can enjoy the seasonal scenery along the track.
The space is designed to provide a bright and uplifting atmosphere, giving both daily commuters and sightseers the feeling of setting out on a journey while wearing a kimono, filled with joy and anticipation.
