To celebrate the "Green Maple Light-up" and the Tanabata (Star Festival), we will be operating the "Eiden Tanabata Messenger Train (Tanabata Densha)*" and featuring special Tanabata decorations on the "LOVE Bench!".
*The name uses a play on words in Japanese, combining "train" with "conveying/messaging," to mean a train that conveys your wishes.

Green Maple Light-up

The "Maple Tunnel" between Ichihara and Ninose Stations on the Kurama Line will be illuminated. Trains passing through this section will turn off their interior lights and run slowly.
Event Period: Every day from Wednesday, July 1 to Saturday, August 15, 2026
Locations: The "Maple Tunnel" section (approx. 250m) between Ichihara and Ninose Stations on the Kurama Line, Ninose Station, Kibuneguchi Station, and Kurama Station

Eiden Tanabata Messenger Train

The interior of the 800 series train (a 2-car formation), which mainly runs on the Kurama Line, will be beautifully decorated with a Tanabata atmosphere.
Operating Period: Wednesday, July 1 to Saturday, August 15, 2026
Train Numbers: Cars 801-851
*Please note that the operating schedule for the "Eiden Tanabata Messenger Train" varies daily. In addition, the train may be suspended or its route changed due to vehicle inspections or other circumstances.

"LOVE Bench!" Tanabata Decorations

The "LOVE Bench!" located inside the ticket gates at Demachiyanagi Station will feature handmade Tanabata decorations created by our staff. Visitors are welcome to write their wishes on paper strips (tanzaku) and hang them up. After the event period, these strips will be offered to Kifune Shrine, which has a deep connection to Tanabata.

• Hanging the paper strips is free of charge, but a valid train ticket or platform ticket for the day is required to enter the station.
